Freerunner is on a Blog Tour!!

Freerunner is on Day 10 of a blog tour. It has been both hard and enlightening to read what each reviewer thinks of the book. I've noticed that almost every blog post starts by saying that it is a hard book to read. That is due to the subject matter. Thankfully most of them felt it was handled well. Here are a few of the high lights from the first blogs.

Day One:

"Touching upon this topic was not an easy thing to do and we need more awareness for this."

Overall this blogger said she was disappointed in the story because I did not provide details of the main Character's absue. Nope. Didn't plan to. Otherwise it would be a John Green book, not a Kathy Cassel book. LOL.

Day two:

"Freerunner" by Kathy Cassel is a book that I have mixed emotions about because of the subject matter. It brings back sad memories."

I was honestly a bit upset when I read the blogger's review. But after messaging her and finding out that she lived through the same kind of abuse as Kia, I understood her review better. She was not criticizing the book as such, just commenting that it was a tough story for her.

Day Three:

This has been one of the hardest books I have ever had to read. It triggered anxiety in me and brought back my painful childhood. To say that I can relate to Kia is sad. I have to face the fact that her story and mine are very similar....

I do think the author has done an excellent job at writing a book about a subject that gives readers an understanding of what abusers do. Kia is strong and determined to make sure her grandfather doesn’t hurt another child. I won’t say much of what happens in the story but I will say that the hardest part for me and others is to forgive the people who hurt us.

She says more about her history and how it relates to Kia's on her blog page as well as recommending the book.

These are the first three blog posts. Please take time to read them, and if it's not past November 23, enter to win the BAM $40 gift card.
