My favorite Dr. Seuss quote is from Oh The Places You'll Go
March 2nd is Dr. Seuss' birthday and Read Across America Day. Read Across America was started by the National Educator's Association in 1998 to get kids excited about reading. That gives you two days to plan. Here are some ideas:
1. Read a Dr. Seuss book, but if you plan to read it aloud, pick an easy one like One Fish, Two Fish, or my favorite, Oh The Places You'll Go. When I was teaching I decided to read as many Dr. Seuss books to my class, but some of his made up words are a mouthful!
2. Make Green Eggs and Ham and read the book with that title.
3. Have a birthday party for Dr. Suess and watch one of the movies based on his books including How the Grinch stole Christmas, The Lorax, and Horton Hears a Who
